OK I’ll be completely honest… I actually discovered this Weetabix overnight oats recipe by accident while trying to use up leftover cereal. But it turned out awesome and is now a staple breakfast in our household!
Easy to prepare, high in fibre, and incredibley versatile, this delicious recipe has become one of my go-to options. I think you’ll like it too… And I can’t believe that I just stumbled on it (usually there’s a fair bit of trial and error with recipe testing).
I was raiding the kitchen cupboards one weekend and they were looking a little bare… You know how it gets the day before a food delivery is due… We didn’t have enough oats to make a full bowl so topped it up with some Weetabix. Luckily for us it turned out so delicious that we’ve been having it regularly ever since.
Do Weetabix & Oats Work Well Together?
Weetabix is one of those versatile cereal options that tastes amazing hot or cold…
- With chilled milk, you retain the crunchy texture and can add cold toppings like berries and yogurt.
- Hot Weetabix on the other hand takes on a smooth consistency and goes well with sliced banana, cinnamon, and crunchy toppings like nuts.
But when you make it with overnight oats, you get the best of both worlds – a cold yet creamy consistency that goes with all your go-to toppings!
